This can range depending on the offering but usually we always limit our courses to at most 12 students. This ensures everyone has the opportunity to actively participate, ask questions, and receive personalized feedback. Most of our courses are 4-7 students.
-
For many of our courses we provide digital handouts (notes, practice questions) that supplement the topic. “Homework” or practice problems may be assigned to reinforce concepts between sessions. Nothing is graded. This is entirely optional work.
-
You’ll need a stable internet connection, a device with a microphone and speakers (or headphones). No specialized software is required.
-
We offer partial or full refunds depending on when you notify us of your cancellation. Please review our refund policy on the enrollment page or contact enroll@chemdunn.com for details.
-
Our small-group approach offers a more interactive environment than a large classroom. Each student has ample opportunities to speak, ask questions, collaborate, and receive targeted feedback—all from the comfort of their own home. This is a perfect option for students that want to supplement their classroom learning or perhaps homeschool students.
-
Courses follow a set curriculum created for the student, so there's no need to bring your own resources or materials. Plus, the students in a course usually don't know each other before enrolling. Group tutoring, on the other hand, is made up of students who already know each other—like classmates or existing study groups. Learn more about group tutoring options here.

Middle School Chemistry
The following sessions/ classes/ groups are geared toward middle school students (ages 11 to 14). Although chemistry first seen as a high school course - the offerings below reflect introduction to chemistry topics to get introduced and may relate to physical science coursework.
Crime Scene Chemistry: Forensic Science Basics
Crime Scene Chemistry introduces students to analytical chemistry by transforming the classroom into a forensic laboratory where science solves real-world mysteries. Through hands-on investigation, students learn how to identify unknown substances, separate complex mixtures, and analyze chemical evidence using core techniques like paper chromatography, pH testing, and qualitative powder analysis. By stepping into the shoes of forensic scientists, middle schoolers build critical thinking and observation skills while discovering how chemical properties serve as clues to unravel complex cases.

Jumpstart AP®︎ Chemistry (Summer Edition)
AP®︎ Chemistry Jumpstart is designed to prepare students for AP®︎ Chemistry by breaking the curriculum into four critical pillars. It begins with a foundation reset of essential concepts like stoichiometry, followed by a deep dive into the underlying conceptual reasons behind atomic behavior and intermolecular forces rather than simple memorization. The course also provides an early preview of challenging upcoming topics like thermodynamics and equilibrium to give students a head start, while wrapping up with specific exam strategies that teach students how to navigate complex multi-step problems and free-response structures to earn a top score.
